MUSIC: Sierra Maestra @ Central Park’s Music Haven, Schenectady. The Grammy-nominated nine-piece band helped ignite the modern Cuban music revolution, playing a key part in the creation of the indelible 1999 film “Buena Vista Social Club.” Expect an evening of classic Cuban “son” with traditional instruments like tres, guitar, trumpet and guiro. MUSIC: Alison Krauss & Union Station featuring Jerry Douglas @ Mountain Park, Holyoke. From the Grammy Award-winning soundtrack to “O Brother Where Art Thou?” to Krauss’ monster collaboration with Robert Plant, they’ve long been at the top of acoustic music heap, and their new album, “Paper Airplane,” is among their best. FESTIVAL/MUSIC: Falcon Ridge Folk Festival @ Dodds Farm, Hillsdale. It’s the last day of the fab folk fest, featuring performances by Mary Chapin Carpenter, Solas, Red Hen, Tracy Grammer, Buskin & Batteau, Dan Navarro and more. 10am. $40.
