FUNDRAISER: Not-So-Silent Auction @ McGeary’s Pub, Albany. A silent auction of goods and services from Nippertown artists and businesses to benefit the Living Walls: Albany project, designed to raise awareness about the use of public space. 7pm.
MUSIC: Bang On a Can @ MASS MoCA, North Adams. The annual “Banglewood” summer festival turns its attention to the rich catalog of compositions by the great John Adams, including a “John Adams: Music and Mastery” (a talk with Bang On a Can’s co-founder David Lang) at 2:30pm, a gallery recital of Adams’ music at 4:30pm and a full concert of his music – including “Gnarly Buttons,” “Shaker Loops,” “Scratchband” and “American Standard” – at 8pm.
