Be Here Now: A Benefit for Roy “Poncho” Hurd @ Caffe Lena, 9/3/10
On the night of Wednesday, July 21, the home of Adirondack singer-songwriter Roy Hurd burned to the ground. (More info.) He and his wife Amy lost everything in it – including musical instruments, recordings, artwork and his newly completed recording studio.
On Friday evening at Caffe Lena in Saratoga Springs, friends, fans and fellow musicians will join together to raise money to help them through this troubled time.
Donating their time and talents to this benefit concert are Christopher Shaw, the Stony Creek Band, Kay Olan and Joe & Jesse Bruchac. Joe Bruchac will also serve as the emcee for the evening’s presentation.
The performance begins at 8pm on Friday. Suggested donation is $20, and all proceeds will go directly to Roy and Amy.
If you can’t make it to the show but would like to make a 100% tax-deductible donation, please make your check out to Southern Adirondack Musician’s Fund, and write “Roy Hurd” on the memo line.
