Hey, Pete Yorn, Where’s Scarlett?
Popster Pete Yorn is a pretty busy guy these days. He’ll be at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center at 7:30pm on Wednesday, May 27 to kick off SPAC’s summer concert season. (Oh yeah, there’s another band named Coldplay that’s going to play, too.)
And if you’re a fan, you’re probably already eager to snap up a copy of his upcoming album, “Back and Fourth,” due for release on Tuesday, June 23.
But Yorn also has yet another completed album already in the can – an album of duets with actress Scarlett Johansson. The album, “Break Up,” was actually recorded back in 2006 – before Johansson made her debut album of Tom Waits covers, “Anywhere I Lay My Head.”
Featuring eight new original tunes by Yorn and a cover of “I Am the Cosmos” by Big Star’s Chris Bell, “Break Up” is something of a song-cycle about a tempestuous relationship.
The album is currently slated for release on September 8 on Atco Records, but you can hear a track from it: “Relator.”
