The 18th annual Whipple City Festival takes over downtown Greenwich, as well as various other streets and parks throughout the town this weekend.
It all kicks off with a parade down Main St. beginning at 6pm Friday. There’s a craft fair, as well as a wide range of family fun that stretches from an old-fashioned dunking booth to laser tag. A 5K race begins at 8:30am Saturday, followed by animal exhibits, a carnival and free horse & wagon rides.
Free music is also a big part of the Whipple City Fest. Mowry Park is the primary site for music, and some of the entertainment that you’ll find there includes RiverJack Z (12noon Saturday), Dirty Old Strings (2pm Saturday), Harold Ford & the Cash Band doing their “Spirit of Johnny Cash” tribute show (6pm Saturday) and Bob Warren (1pm Sunday).
Go here for the complete schedule of entertainment and lots of other activities and fun.
