“Rocky Horror” Auditions

Whip It OutskirtsHaven’t you always wanted to jump on stage dressed in little more than fishnet stockings, a garter belt, high heels, a bustier and pearls?

Sure you have. And now’s your chance to do it.

The Whip-It Outskirts – who bill themselves as “Albany’s premiere live ‘Rocky Horror Picture Show’ shadowcast troupe” – are holding open auditions from 2-7pm on Thursday at the Palace Theatre in Albany.

There are a few audition requirements, but not many of them. You don’t even need to be able to sing – it’s all lip-synching, of course.

Costumes aren’t required for the audition, either, although as the website points out “if you want to…go for it!!!” The most important tip for auditioners? “We aren’t looking for perfection…mostly we are looking for attitude!!!” Gosh, they sure do like their exclamation points, don’t they?

It’s all in preparation for a pre-Halloween performance/screening of “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” at the Palace Theatre on Monday, October 25.

Come on down, all you Sweet Transvestites…
