Broadway’s tallest tapper takes to Barrington Stage Co.’s Boyd-Quinson Mainstage in Pittsfield — dancing, singing and tale-telling through 50 years of big-time showmanship. The show features Tommy Tune and his musical director Michael Biagi. It’s the kick off for the 2014 Summer Concert Series with Tony Award-winner Tommy Tune in Taps, Tunes, and Tall Tales tonight (Monday, July 28) at 8pm.

Tune is a nine-time Tony Award winner for his work on Seesaw, A Day in Hollywood/A Night in the Ukraine, Nine, My One and Only, Grand Hotel and The Will Rogers Follies. In addition, he has been awarded eight Drama Desk Awards, three Astaire Awards and the Society of Directors and Choreographers’ George Abbott Award for Lifetime Achievement. He was honored with the Helen Hayes Tribute in 2011.

William Finn, Suzanne Vega join Tommy Tune, Liz and Ann Hampton Callaway for Barrington Stage concerts

In addition to planning their spring through fall theater season, Barrington Stage Company has continued to program additional events that have a strong following among Berkshire theatre-goers. Two major additions to the schedule have just been announced by Artistic Director Julianne Boyd and Managing Director Tristan Wilson.

The 2014 Summer Concert Series on the Boyd-Quinson MainStage has added Celebrating the Music of William Finn on Friday & Saturday, August 29 & 30 at 8pm, and award-winning vocalist Suzanne Vega on September 12 at 8pm. They join the previously announced Tommy Tune in Taps, Tunes and Tall Tales on July 28 and the return of Liz & Ann Hampton Callaway in the Berkshire debut of their all-new show Here Come the Callaways on August 11.

Barrington Stage Company, the award-winning theater in downtown Pittsfield, under the leadership of Artistic Director Julianne Boyd and Managing Director Tristan Wilson, is proud to present the 2014 Summer Concert Series on the Boyd-Quinson Mainstage featuring Tony Award-winner Tommy Tune in Taps, Tunes, and Tall Tales on Monday, July 28 at 8pm, and the return of Tony Award nominees Liz & Ann Hampton Callaway in the Berkshire debut of their all-new show Here Come the Callaways on Monday, August 11.

Single tickets to Tap, Tunes and Tall Tales and Here Come the Callaways will go on sale to the general public on Monday, March 24 at 10am.
