New Release Rack: The Lustre Kings’ “Go Green”

Go Green

Nippertown’s fave rollickin’ rockabilly roustabouts are back with their fifth album, Go Green With the Lustre Kings, and I’m happy to say that I was mistaken when I thought that perhaps bandleader Mark Gamsjager & Co. were goin’ all Celtic on us, judging by the title.

A run of nine Lustre Kings Elvis Birthday Bashes this year – including celebrations at The Linda in Albany, the Ale House in Troy and a packed Rodeo Bar in New York City – culminated on Saturday night with a throw-down at Daisy Baker’s in Troy.

Rockabilly Rockers on the Fly

February 8th, 2011, 4:12 pm by Greg

There’s been an unusually high number of pompadour sightings at the Albany International Airport this week.

Rockabilly kingpin Johnny Rabb is headed out to sunny California, where he and Eddie Angel and the rest of the masked caveman in the Neanderthals will be making their west coast debut this weekend with gigs in Rosemead on Friday and Long Beach on Saturday.
