LIVE: Sister Sparrow & the Dirty Birds @ the Garage, 4/12/12

April 17th, 2012, 3:00 pm by Greg

November 1st, 2011, 11:00 am by Sara

The Garage

The Garage

The Berkshire Theatre Group has made it official – there’s going to be a new performance space, and a “classy” one at that, for the Berkshire’s younger audiences and it is right in the lobby annex space of the Colonial Theatre.

About the Concept

Dubbed “The Garage,” it will feature live music by hot local and regional bands in one of the most historic and welcoming environments imaginable, the annex space that is part of the Colonial Theatre’s beehive of activity. The building, not part of the original Colonial operation, is a former car dealership that was saved and restored along with the theatre itself.

The first six performances will be free to the public, and open to all ages, with a full service bar for those of legal drinking age.

The Garage will feature music weekly on Wednesdays or Thursdays from 9pm until midnight. The first six performances will showcase the music from a variety of genres including Americana, Rock, Funk, Blues, and Reggae. The first six shows include Chris Merenda & The Wheel, Otis Grove, The Citizens, Tory Hanna, Tony Lee Thomas Band and Sparkplug.
