Steve Zucchini

NAME: Steve Zucchini
BAND AFFILIATION: The Zucchini Brothers
INSTRUMENT: Keyboards/Vocals

1. THE FIRST ALBUM I EVER BOUGHT WAS … “The Best of Tommy Dorsey”

2. THE FIRST CONCERT THAT I EVER SAW WAS … Crosby, Stills & Nash/The Band in 1985: CSN were pretty good. David Crosby was in a catatonic state and not saying or moving much on stage. Shortly thereafter, he went to jail. I kick myself because the Band warmed up, and I wished I had appreciated them more than I did at the time. (I only knew a few of their tunes, “Up On Cripple Creek,” etc.) Richard Manuel was still alive and singing with them.

3. THE FIRST MUSICAL INSTRUMENT I EVER OWNED OR PLAYED WAS … Piano. My first keyboard was a Univox with four sounds and an octave of real bass notes, a la Ray Manzarek (the Doors). It was pretty cheesy. Friends later nicknamed it the “organ grinder.”
