After zipping up the Thruway from their Kingston hometown, guitarist-vocalist Shana Falana and drummer Mike Amari landed at the Low Beat in Albany to kick off their coast-to-coast tour and celebrate the release of their sparkling new collaborative album, Set Your Lightning Fire Free. And not surprisingly, the new partnership put considerably more muscle into Falana’s always mesmerizing dream-pop sound, at once tribal and droning.

Shana Falana – the Kingston-based duo of guitarist-vocalist Shana Falana and drummer Michael Amari – celebrate the release of their new album “Set Your Lightning Fire Free” (on Team Love Records) with a pair of Nippertown shows this week. At 9pm on Thursday (April 2), they’ll be at the Low Beat in Albany, sharing the stage with Eternal Crimes and Moon Magick. Admission is $5. And then at 9pm on Friday (April 3), they’ll hit the stage at the BSP Lounge in Kingston with Buffalo Sex Change and Pecas. Admission is $5.
