Pollstar – the bible of the concert industry – has announced the nominations for its 22nd annual Pollstar Awards Show, which will be held at Club Nokia in Los Angeles on Saturday, February 5.
Although there’s not a whole lot for Nippertown music fans to cheer about, the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts (located at the site of the 1969 Woodstock festival) did earn a nomination for Best Major Outdoor Concert Venue.
Competing with Bethel Woods for the award are the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion (The Woodlands, TX), the Gorge Amphitheatre (Quincy, WA), the Hollywood Bowl (Los Angeles, CA), the Mann Center For The Performing Arts (Philadelphia, PA) and the Molson Canadian Amphitheatre (Toronto, ON).
Sadly, however, the only one of the nominees for Best Major Tour of the Year who made a stop in the Greater Capital Region this year was Bon Jovi, who played the Saratoga Performing Arts Center back in July with opening acts Soraia and Nippertown’s own hometown favorites Ten Year Vamp. (Read our review here.) The other nominees for the top honor – all of whom bypassed the Capital Region on their road trips this year – are Lady Gaga, Muse, Roger Waters and Taylor Swift.
