The annual block party in the street and parking lot outside of Pinhead Susan’s in Schenectady became a full-fledged festival this year with a large stage and a headlining band that’s played many festivals in their years together.

And to make it complete, it rained. But not hard, just a constant drizzle that probably discouraged some, but didn’t slow down the hardy partiers one bit.

1. THE FIRST ALBUM I EVER BOUGHT WAS … It’s with a good dose of embarrassment that I admit that the first record I ever bought (a 45 single) was “Snoopy vs. the Red Baron” by the Royal Guardsmen. However, I can redeem myself by disclosing that the first LP I purchased was “Led Zeppelin II” – one of my favorites that I played to its slow and scratchy demise. I’ve never replaced it in CD, but I should – it still holds up (in my humble opinion). I’m still a fan of Robert Plant and his recent work with T Bone Burnett and the revival of Band of Joy!
