Party Boat

JetPack Promotions, the Saratoga Springs-based music promotion and development company founded by Kirsten Ferguson and Bob Carlton, just celebrated its first anniversary a month ago, but they’re ready to branch out in a direction by launching JetPack Records.

Each seven-inch single on Jetpack will be available on limited-edition vinyl. Once the vinyl is sold out, it’s sold out, but it will continue to be available on digital download and streaming sites.

The first single from JetPack will be by the Saratoga Springs-based surf-poppin’ band, Party Boat – “Little Fish” backed with “Don’t Stress.” Limited to 150 vinyl copies, the seven-inch single will be available on Tuesday, May 13. GO HERE to place pre-orders for $7 each.

The Party Boat record release party will be held at Circus Cafe in Saratoga Springs on Friday, May 9.

Party Boat

Saratoga Springs’s own Party Boat are getting a fair amount of airplay on WEXT-FM with their song “Don’t Be Bummin’ at the Party,” and that’s pretty damn good advice any time Party Boat hits the stage, like they did at Bailey’s Cafe in Saratoga Springs last month.

Warm Soda

Review and photographs by Kirsten Ferguson

“We’re Warm Soda from Oakland, California. That’s basically San Francisco, but cooler,” said Matthew Melton of the West Coast garage-glam band Warm Soda, his follow-up to his previous outfit Bare Wires, which broke up last year. Warm Soda has a new release, Someone for You, a tinny, fuzzy blast of power pop perfection, and they played most of the album’s songs at Valentine’s, including the sugar-coated sing-along “Jeanie Loves Pop” and the love-besotted title track “Someone for You.”
