It’s the Third Annual Berkshire Celebration of all things LGBTQ!
While most of it happens in Pittsfield, the Out in the Berkshires Weekend welcomes all those in the widespread Berkshires LGBTQ community to celebrate, party and make their presence known. For four days, from November 10 until the 13 there is a stunning array of events including documentaries, film screenings, dances, karaoke and even a historic panel discussion and brunch. The events are open to all, not only the Berkshire’s lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered and questioning community, but also their families, neighbors, fans, allies and supporters.
Believing you shouldn’t have to wait until the weekend to have fun, the celebration kicks off on Thursday November 10 at 8:00 pm (Recently changed from 9:30) with a big screen showing of The Adventures of Priscilla Queen of the Desert. Shown in our lead photo above is the Australian actor Guy Pearce as Adam doing a little decorating of Priscilla (their bus) during a trip across the outback.
It’s a classic, and a film that can be enjoyed again and again. The screening takes place at the Beacon Cinema. The film, since made into a Broadway musical (link) will be hosted by the one and only Taffy Darling from Rumpy’s in Lenox. Show starts at 9:30pm, tickets are only $9 and there will be a social hour with drink specials at Brulee’s following the movie.
