Orla Fallon came to national prominence here in America as a founding member, singer and harpist with the packaged touring group, Celtic Woman. Her strong vocals and stunning harp playing soon elevated her above the rest, so she struck out on her own and released the DVD “Celtic Christmas: Live In Concert,” which aired last year as a public television holiday special, garnering critical acclaim and a whole new set of fans.
Now touring in support of her newest CD/DVD release, “My Land,” Fallon is poised to be the next Mary Black of traditional Irish music. And if her splendid appearance last Saturday night at The Egg wasn’t proof enough, then her upcoming PBS special, “My Land: A Concert Homecoming,” is likely to dispel any doubts.
