Hump Day Unusual Moment

The tireless worker bees here at the Nippertown honeycomb searched long and hard for just the right Hump Day Unusual Moment to kick off the new year, and they arrived at the obvious conclusion – Arthur Brown!

Ah, but not Brown’s big 1968 hit, “Fire.” No, that would be too obvious. So how about Arthur Brown and his band Kingdom Come ripping through “Internal Messenger,” the opening track of his 1971 album, “Galactic Zoo Dossier”? Here’s a mindbendingly bizarre and bombastic live version from the ’71 Glastonbury Festival, filmed by acclaimed movie director Nicholas Roeg (“The Man Who Fell to Earth,” “Don’t Look Now,” “Walkabout”):
