Many theatre lovers are looking forward to the return of Broadway’s Leslie Kritzer in Hello, Gorgeous! Leslie Kritzer Sings Jule Styne, with music director Vadim Feichtner, on Monday, July 30, 2012 at 7pm on the Boyd-Quinson Mainstage, 30 Union Street, Pittsfield, MA. Leslie is a two-time Drama Desk Award nominee who won everyone’s hearts with her portrayal of ‘Adelaide’ in last year’s hit production of Guys and Dolls. Leslie also starred in BSC’s Musical Theatre Lab 2010 world premiere of The Memory Show (scheduled for a NY run at The Transport Group).

Leslie Kritzer has a cabaret show that is likely to land her at the top of the list of Broadway “divas.” The announcement of her return to the Berkshires was made by Barrington Stage Company, the award-winning regional theatre in downtown Pittsfield, and its leaders, Julianne Boyd, Artistic Director, and Tristan Wilson, Managing Director.

One of the topics among friends is whether Kritzer has reached the ranks of a popular diva, and I think she has. Not in the old fashioned sense of a tempermental opera singer, but in the newer use of the word. Today a diva is a very accomplished singer who defines their own journey and destiny, and is not ashamed to be themselves at all times. Leslie Kritzer is madly in love with the Broadway songbook, and has had a career that shows her fearlessness in accepting new roles, regardless of the risks. She’s the kind of Broadway Belter that does the word “diva” proud.
