Loud Fast Jews!

Such a panel…

As you might expect, the YIVO Institute for Jewish Research in Manhattan usually hosts lectures with titles like “The Yiddish Press in Israel” and “Mapping Transnational Jewish Philanthropy.”

But they’ll be cranking it up to 11 on Thursday, June 11 for “Loud Fast Jews!: A Summit with Four Jewish Fathers of Punk.”

That’s right, Tommy Ramone, Lenny Kaye, Chris Stein and Handsome Dick Manitoba will convene on the Center for Jewish History (15 West 16th St., NYC) for a panel discussion on the glorious heyday of NYC punk and the impact that their Jewish experience had on their music.

General admission tickets are $18; students $12.
