Ladyfest Upstate – an all-day music and arts festival showcasing women-identified, trans and gender nonconforming artists – is back for its second year in Albany, this time around landing at the Low Beat on Saturday (November 22).
The fest, which is slated to run from 1:30pm-1am, will feature live art, comedians, poets, storytellers and other spoken word artists, as well as a wide variety of music that ranges from rock to folk to hip-hop. Musical performers include Free Cake for Every Creature, Niedra Stevens, Moor Mother Goddess (Philadelphia), Cihuatl Ce (Los Angeles), Evan Greer (Boston) and more.
The event is one to those 18+ and is wheelchair accessible. Admission is $10-20 on a sliding scale, but no one will be turned away for lack of funds. Profits from the fest will go directly to the Sanctuary Fund, a Holding Our Own donor-advised fund for women and families who need to leave their homes without notice, as a result of disaster, divorce or domestic violence.
