Springtime in Albania

Thursday, May 21st, 2009

I can’t tell you how many times the Capital Police have kicked me off of the Empire State Plaza for rollerblading on its smoooooth marble surfaces. The security guards in Albania are apparently a little more mellow, since a favorite pastime appears to be Hoxha sliding, in which one slides down a huge marble-clad monument (to authoritarian Albanian leader Enver Hoxha) on an empty 3-litre soda bottle.
