You Don’t Have to Be Polish to Love Jimmy Sturr’s Polkas (But It Helps) [Berkshire on Stage]

Thursday, April 4th, 2013

Polkas and pierogies. A classic combination. You know they go together if you live in the Berkshires where a popular activity is trading traditions. So this Irishman, having just polished off the balance of his corned beef and cabbage is gearing up to see the great Jimmy Sturr, followed by a great Polish meal immediately after the matinee performance.

For his part, Sturr will soon have everyone kicking up their heels in wild abandon. The 18-time Grammy winner and holder of the title of “Polka King” makes music fun again. His audience of polka enthusiasts (and newbies) will recapture their youth, some even trying to dance in the aisles. This down to earth fun is scheduled to take place at the elegant Colonial Theatre when Sturr brings his orchestra to Pittsfield on April 7, 2013 at 2pm. (“Nie dla wszystkich skrzypce graja”)
