Japanther is an art project established circa 2001 by Ian Vanek and Matt Reilly in Brooklyn, New York. They tend to create wild interactive live showings in unconventional settings, in this case Friday and Saturday December 2-3 at 8:00 pm at RPI’s EMPAC, in Studio 1. tickets are $18.00 general admission ($13 students, seniors and RPI faculty, staff, $6 RPI students) and can be had directly from the box office. Stop by Monday–Friday 9 AM–6 PM, two hours prior to any performance, or call 518.276.3921. They will also be happy to provide directions and parking information.

In their work, Japanther: The Cake of The 3 Towers the three towers are suggestions of a prison, museum, and (housing) project, albeit loosely. The music, video, and performance draws parallel lines between these three industrial archetypes.

Moving through these structures, the artists utilize fragments of their environment to envision a utopian creative endgame.
