Yes, Heavy has been extended, and the multimedia fest of visual art, music, dance and – hey! – maybe even a puppet or two will open the doors of Saint Joseph’s Church in Albany again this weekend.

The fest originally took place over the course of three days last weekend, but the Marketplace Gallery’s Samson Contompasis, the fest’s organizer, was so happy with the success of the event that he has extended the run – and promised some new artworks and music, too.

Heavy will take place from 5-11pm on Friday, and from 2-11pm on Saturday.

As it was last weekend, admission is just $5, which will go directly to the funding the restoration of the church.

People were there. The media was there. Artists and art lovers were there. And Contompasis was there, strolling through the festivities with a big grin on his face, looking like a proud papa.
