SPAC Announces Freihofer Jazz Fest Headliner

December 8th, 2011, 11:30 am by Greg

The Saratoga Performing Arts Center in Saratoga Springs has announced that jazz-pop trumpeter Chris Botti will headline the 35th annual Freihofer’s Saratoga Jazz Festival, which is slated for Saturday, June 30 and Sunday, July 1.

Botti and his band will headline the first day of the fest, Saturday, June 30, before heading north to play the Montreal Jazz Festival on Sunday, July 1.

His Freihofer Jazz Fest performance will be the trumpeter’s first appearance at SPAC since 2008, but it won’t be his last Nippertown show of the summer. Botti is also slated to play a concert at Tanglewood’s Ozawa Hall in Lenox on Sunday, August 5.

Freihofer’s Jazz Fest schedule

June 23rd, 2009, 11:50 am by Greg

The annual Freihofer’s Jazz Festival is headed into SPAC on Saturday and Sunday, June 27-28, and while the SPAC folks used to be all hush-hush, top-secret, for-your-eyes-only about revealing the schedule of performers, they have apparently come to their senses and loosened up about all that.

Keep in mind that this is not only a festival, but a jazz festival, which means that some things – like the performers and the set times – can change. It’s jazz. Improvise.
