The gallery at 274 4th Street in Troy

A man with a dream and no small amount of determination, Troy resident Cory Nelson has managed to open not one but two – count ’em, 2 – galleries in formerly inactive storefronts on Troy’s 4th Street.

From 6-8pm on Friday (September 26), exhibitions will take place at each gallery with additional artwork displayed throughout the block, in conjunction with the monthly Troy Night Out arts walk. DOORS, at 274 4th Street, will feature the work of local artists who have painted doors salvaged from Troy dumpsters. PINK TAXI, at 314 4th Street, is a tribute to Darlene Nelson and those fighting breast cancer, and is the first step in forming a partnership with mobile-based car services such as UBER and LYFT to provide taxi services to and from chemotherapy treatment for patients.
