Capital Underground Live Local Music Showcases Move Out of the Armory

Back in October, tireless local music promoter Ralph Renna announced his plans to host three big local music concerts at the Washington Avenue Armory in Albany.

The first one of the Capital Underground Live concerts was held last Saturday.

But now Renna has announced that last Saturday’s show was the only one that will take place at the armory. The next concert – which is scheduled for Saturday, January 15 – has been moved from the Washington Avenue Armory and will now take place at Bogie’s in Albany.

On Saturday at the second annual Albany A Games held at Shelter Skate Park in Albany, the Black Tie Operation emerged as the grand prize winner in the Capital Underground Radio Battle of the Bands.

Congratulations to all of the finalists – Run Diamond Run, Scrap Metal, Skadee and Tyranize.

As the grand prize winner in the battle, Black Tie Operation will receive $1,000 of recording time from North Sea Studios.

Congrats go out to the five bands who made it to the finals of the Capital Underground Radio Battle of the Bands:

The Black Tie Operation

The bands will perform live at the Shelter Skate Park in Albany on Saturday, June 5, as part of the second annual Albany A Games. The grand prize winner will receive $1,000 of recording time from North Sea Studios in Albany.

The five finalists were selected from 19 semi-finalists who entered the competition. The finalists were selected solely by the general public voting online.
