So, the Jamie Foxx show at the Times Union Center wasn’t the only concert cancellation announced this week.
On a considerably sadder note for Nippertown music fans, the Les McCann/Javon Jackson show won’t be rolling into The Egg on Saturday, August 15, either.
Yes, the handwriting was probably on the wall, since the McCann/Jackson band was originally slated as the opening act for the always reliable, but rarely transcendent Robert Cray Band. Cray’s band dropped off the bill a while back, and The Egg valiantly tried the save the date for the 73-year-old keyboardist-vocalist McCann and saxman Jackson, who was in mighty fine form at the Freihofer’s Jazz Festival at SPAC just a couple of weeks ago.
‘Twas not to be, however.
Refunds are available at The Egg box office.
