Real Good for Free: African American Family Day @ Empire State Plaza

The Empire State Plaza’s annual At the Plaza summertime concert series has dwindled down to a precious few shows, so enjoy ’em while you can. McDonald’s African American Family Day rolls around from 12noon-7pm on Saturday, and the plaza will be filled with music, art, guest speakers and all sorts of family-friendly activities.

Headlining the musical festivities will be the S.O.S. Band (at 5:45pm), the ’80s funk ‘n’ soul band who churned out such hits as “You,” “Take Your Time (Do It Right),” “Do It Now,” “Just Be Good to Me” and more.
