From Cultural Pittsfield: Downtown Pittsfield will be filled with munchkins and music, runners and drummers, square dancing and surprises on Thursday, October 20th as the fifth year of 3rd.Thursdays ends with another exciting family-friendly street festival downtown. As it has been all year, North Street will be closed to vehicles from Park Square to Maplewood Avenue 5pm to 8pm to give thousands of pedestrians the opportunity to stroll.
COSTUME CONTESTS GALORE
Greylock Federal Credit Union is 3rd.Thursdays’ lead sponsor this month. They will be headquartered at Palace Park on North Street near Fenn Street, where they will be handing out free flashlights for kids and information on safe trick-or-treating. Family music favorite David Grover will be performing at Palace Park from 5pm to 6pm followed by the youthful performers of Berkshire Rocks.
And for all ages, both the new website Pittsfield.com and Carr Hardware will be holding online costume contests during 3rd.Thursdays. Just stop by Carr Hardware or the Pittsfield.com booth near the Senior Center in costume between 5pm and 8pm and they will take your picture and post it on their Facebook or webpage. The photos with the most “likes” will win prizes!
