“O Fortuna” pumped through the speakers onto the empty Northern Lights stage, as eager audience members clutched their smart phones, ready to record the first glimpses of 30 Seconds to Mars last Friday night.

Segueing into the opening song “A Beautiful Lie,” front man Jordan Catalano, er, Jared Leto hid his usually black-lined eyes behind dark sunglasses and raised his hands up to the wailing crowd in a manner that seemed to both calm and excite them simultaneously.

30 Seconds to Mars Choose Madrid Over Clifton Park

November 9th, 2010, 10:01 am by Greg

No, 30 Seconds to Mars still hasn’t re-scheduled their Northern Lights performance, which was supposed to take place last Saturday. But now at least we know that they had a pretty good reason for postponing the gig – for the second time.

As it turns out, Jared Leto and his band were performing at MTV’s Europe Music Awards last weekend. And really, let’s face it, where would you rather be? Clifton Park? Or Madrid, Spain in front of an international television audience?

Not only did they perform their new single, “Hurricane” – with a surprise appearance by special guest Kanye West – but at the end of the night 30 Seconds to Mars also walked off with the MTV EMA trophy for Best Rock Band.

Now if they’d just re-schedule that twice-postponed Northern Lights gig…

30 Second To Mars

Who do they think they are, Elton John and Billy Joel?

Actor Jared Leto and his band 30 Seconds to Mars have postponed their Clifton Park concert – for the second time.

The band was originally slated to perform at Northern Lights on Saturday, September 11, but that performance was pushed back til Friday, November 5. Now comes word that they’ve nixed the November date, too, citing the ever-popular “scheduling conflicts.”

A new date for sometime in 2011 will be announced shortly, according to the band’s website, where they also declare, “We are very sorry for the inconvenience and we promise to make it up to everyone.”

Really?

Hmmm… so how would you like 30 Seconds to Mars make it up to you? Dedicate a song to your girlfriend? Lower the ticket price? Clean your gutters while they’re in town?
