MUSIC: The Soul Brass Band @ Club Helsinki, Hudson. Drummer-vocalist Derrick Freeman leads the all-star Big Easy musicians with a jazzy, horn-laced fusion of New Orleans funk, soul and hip-hop as Mardi Gras season nears its peak. With Paul Rivers-Bailey & The Forefathers. 8pm. $25.

MUSIC: Manhattan Saxophone Quartet @ Union College Taylor Music Center’s Emerson Auditorium, Schenectady. Exploring the jazz-influenced side of the saxophone quartet repertoire with works by Paquito D’Rivera, Astor Piazzolla and Jennifer Higdon, in addition to joining forces with the Union College Jazz Ensemble for music by Don Menza and Thad Jones, as well as Jimmy Giuffre’s classic “Four Brothers”. 3pm. MUSIC: Griffin House @ Caffe Lena, Saratoga Springs. With his latest album, So On and So Forth, the Nashville singer-songwriter with a Midwestern upbringing reveals himself as a young family man and artist who is choosing sobriety and celebrating his path to success. 7pm. $27.
