SPAC Announces 2018 Classical Season

This summer Saratoga Performing Arts Center welcomes back resident companies the New York City Ballet, the Philadelphia Orchestra and the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center.

In addition, SPAC will kick off its season with three performances of Alicia Alonso’s “Giselle” by the exuberant National Ballet of Cuba.

New York City Ballets’ summer season has been whittled down to just one week, featuring four different programs, including an evening of Saratoga premieres with works choreographed by Justin Peck, Lauren Lovette and Gianna Reisen.

Musical director-conductor Yannick Nezet-Seguin leads the Philadelphia Orchestra in its three-week run at the Saratoga amphitheater. The orchestra is also initiating the new “Cinema Saturdays @ SPAC,” performing the live soundtrack to the films “Star Wars, Episode IV: A New Hope,” “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” and “The Red Violin,” featuring guest violinist Joshua Bell.

Tickets will go on sale to the general public at at 10am on Thursday, February 22.
