MUSIC: Amythyst Kiah @ Caffe Lena, Saratoga Springs. She has a firm grip on traditional folk and blues, a powerful voice, strong chops on banjo and guitar, and she knows how to rock it up with fresh beats and vocal stylings. 7pm. $18.

MUSIC: Justin Townes Earle @ Club Helsinki, Hudson. The Americana music scion brings his country-inflected brand of folk-rock to town. Nashville singer-songwriter Joshua Hedley opens. 8pm. $25 & $35.

MUSIC: John McEuen & the String Wizards @ The Egg’s Swyer Theatre, Albany. It’s a rare musical matinee at The Egg. The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band’s famed banjoist John McEuen takes a look back at the group’s landmark album Will the Circle Be Unbroken with Les Thompson (bass/vocals), Matt Cartsonis (guitar/mandola /vocals), John Cable (guitar/vocals) and multi-instrumentalist Andy Goessling of Railroad Earth. 3pm. $29.50.

OPERA: “The Mother of Us All” @ Hudson Hall, Hudson. R.B. Schlather directs the production of Virgil Thomson and Gertrude Stein’s 1947 opera about Susan B. Anthony and the Women’s Suffrage Movement in America, which began in upstate New York. 4pm. $20, $35 & $55. UPDATE: This performance is officially sold out.

MUSIC: The SHEroes @ The Falcon, Marlboro. Pianist Monika Herzig leads the all-star, all-female band featuring guitarist Leni Stern, flautist Jamie Baum, tenor saxophonist Ada Rovatti, bassist Jennifer Vincent and drummer Rosa Avila. 8pm. Donations encouraged.

JAM SESSION: Dick Quinn Memorial Jam @ the Ale House, Troy. An open session in memory of the late Greater Nippertown super-fan. 6pm.

MUSIC: Hollywood Undead @ Upstate Concert Hall, Clifton Park. Johnny 3 Tears, J-Dog, Charlie Scene, Funny Man and Danny make a tour stop in Clifton Park in support of their new album, Five. With the Butcher Babies. 8pm. $28.
