A solo acoustic benefit concert for the Radio Woodstock Cares Foundation to aid local breast cancer care, research facilities and hospitals in the Hudson Valley. OPERA: “The Mother of Us All” @ Hudson Hall, Hudson. R.B. Schlather directs the production of Virgil Thomson and Gertrude Stein’s 1947 opera about Susan B. MUSIC: Bela Fleck & Abigail Washburn @ the Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center, Great Barrington. The magnificent husband-and-wife banjo duo rolls into town in support of their brand new sophomore album, Echo in the Valley. 7pm. $30, $50 & $80.

MUSIC: Hal Ketchum @ Caffe Lena, Saratoga Springs. The Greenwich native and country music hitmaker plays a pair of homecoming shows back where it all started at open mic nights. The author-poet is one of the few genuine celebrities to emerge from the competitive slam-poetry scene, perhaps best known for the poem “What Teachers Make,” a question he expanded upon in his bestselling book, “What Teachers Make: In Praise of the Greatest Job in the World.” The latest installment of the Rogovoy Salon hosted by Seth Rogovoy. 7pm. $15.
