MUSIC: Sachal Ensemble @ SPAC’s Spa Little Theater, Saratoga Springs. The Pakistani band offers a cross-cultural re-creation of songs made iconic by Duke Ellington, The Beatles, Dave Brubeck, Henry Mancini and Richard Rodgers as well as traditional Pakistani folk songs. 7pm. $40.

TALK: Doug Wright @ UAlbany Performing Arts Center’s Recital Hall, Albany. The playwright won the 2003 Pulitzer Prize for his one-person play “I Am My Own Wife.” He’s also earned for Tony nominations, writing the book for such Broadway musicals as “Hands on a Hardbody” (with music by Trey Anastasio), “The Little Mermaid,” “Grey Gardens” and “War Paint.” 8pm. READING: Diane Ackerman @ Bard College’s Bertelsmann Campus Center, Annandale-on-Hudson. The celebrated author will read from her book, “The Zookeeper’s Wife,” a little-known true story of World War II that enjoyed months as The New York Times No. 1 nonfiction bestseller. 2:30pm. FREE.

MUSIC: Corey Dandridge’s World of Gospel @ The Falcon, Marlboro. The month-long Monday residency comes to a close. 7:30pm. Donations encouraged.
