MUSIC: Renaissance’s “Symphonic Journey” @ The Egg’s Hart Theatre, Albany. For the first time in 40 years, prog-art-rock pioneers, led by the ethereal vocal stylings of Annie Haslam, will perform on stage with with the band – Rave Tesar on piano, Tom Brislin on keyboards, Mark Lambert on guitars, Frank Pagano on drums and percussion and Leo Traversa on bass – accompanied by a live 10-piece chamber orchestra adding an incredible dynamic to their classics “Mother Russia,” “Carpet of the Sun” and “Song for All Seasons” and others in this career retrospective concert. 7pm. $34.50, $39.50 & $49.50.

MUSIC/FUNDRAISER: “The Creep Show” @ Caffe Lena, Saratoga Springs. Hosted by Michael Eck, it’s the annual Halloween show with a batch of creepy, spooky songs performed by Rusticator, Brain Medicine, M.R. Poulopoulos and the Wrecking Board with some laughs from the MopCo improv comedy troupe. A benefit for the Caffe. 7pm. $22.

MUSIC: “Across the Vast Eternal Sky” @ Troy Savings Bank Music Hall, Troy. Albany Pro Musica kicks off its 37th season with a performance of the music of Ola Gjeilo featuring the American String Quartet. 3pm. $25 & $35; students $15.

OPEN MIC: Halloween Masquerade Open Mic @ the Low Beat, Albany. Hosted by Deb Cavanaugh, the bash features Local 518 musicians dressed as one of their musical influences and playing their music. 6pm sign-up; 7pm music.

MUSIC: University Symphony Orchestra and Concert Band @ UAlbany Performing Arts Center, Albany. Two of the University’s large ensembles present a shared program. 3pm. $6; students & seniors $3.

FILM: “Song of Lahore” @ Bowtie Criterion Cinemas 11 & BTX, Saratoga Springs. The film, by two-time Academy Award-winning director Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy and Andy Schocken, tells the story of Sachal Ensemble — traditional musicians trying to survive under the oppression and brutality of modern day Pakistan. 3:30pm. $5.
