The Hangar on the Hudson is hosting “Let It Rock! A Tribute to Chuck Berry” at 8pm on Friday, October 20. The Chuck Berry birthday bash will feature the cream of the Greater Nippertown rock ‘n’ roll scene, including Johnny Rabb, Mark Gamsjager, the Tichy Boys, Mike Kelley, Pete Vumbaco, Don Young and most likely some special guests, too. Tickets are $15. And if that’s not enough for ya, The Hangar is also hosting the return of the garage-rock kingpins, The Fleshtones, for a 3pm matinee on Saturday, November 4. Tickets are on sale now, priced at $10 in advance; $15 at the door.

Clifton Park’s eclectic Upstate Concert Hall veers from heavy metal to hip-hop with a pair of new concert announcements: Zakk Wylde leads the Black Label Society into town on Sunday, January 7 with Corrosion of Conformity and Eyehategod kicking off the headbangin’ evening at 8pm ($35). Then hip-hop hitmaker Ja Rule steps up to the mic on Friday, January 12. The show kicks off at 8pm, and tickets are $25 in advance; $28 at the door. Tickets for both shows go on sale at 10am on Friday (October 13).

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: The Cohoes Music Hall announced a pair of new concerts – pioneering jam band Donna the Buffalo and the scorching soul singer Bettye LaVette. Tickets for both shows go on sale to the general public at 10am on Friday (October 13).

Newly announced Rock & Roll Hall of Fame nominees The Zombies are headed into the Levon Helm Studios in Woodstock at 8pm on Friday, March 9. Tickets go on sale at 10am on Thursday (October 12), priced at $75 & $100.

Veteran musician-composer Fabio Frizzi and his seven-piece Frizzi 2 Fulci ensemble will perform the live soundtrack to accompany a screening of the new “composer’s cut” of director Lucio Fulci’s 1981 classic horror film, “The Beyond,” at Proctors’ GE Theatre in Schenectady at 8pm on Tuesday, October 31 – a perfect Halloween treat. The evening will also include a one-time-only tribute to Fulci’s “Gates of Hell” trilogy and a screening of “Saint Frankenstein” (also scored by Frizzi). 8pm.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: In support of their recently released album, The Nashville Sound, award-winning singer-songwriter Jason Isbell & the 400 Unit are headed into Albany’s Palace Theatre with James McMurtry opening the show. Tickets go on sale to the general public at 11am on Friday (October 13).

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Ominous Seapods – including Dana Monteith all the way from Australia – are reuniting for the first time since 2011 at the Cohoes Music Hall. Tickets are on sale now… and going fast.

In conjunction with the annual Woodstock Invitational Luthiers Showcase, the Woodstock Playhouse is hosting the String Sampler Concert featuring Julian Lage & Chris Eldridge with the Simon Shaheen Trio and Woody Mann at 8pm on Saturday, October 28. Tickets are on sale now, priced at $40, $50 & $65.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Albany’s College of Saint Rose has announced the 2017-2018 concert schedule for the Massry Center for the Arts, including performances by Marc Cohn, Gedeon Luke & The People, Dana Fuchs, Shemekia Copeland, Carolyn Wonderland, Lera Lynn, Lachy Doley and the Saint Rose Camerata.

Country music hitmaker Chase Bryant rumbles into Vapor in Saratoga Springs Springs at 9pm on Thursday, November 16. Tickets are $20.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Piano prodigy Ethan Bortnick is making a tour stop at the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall. Tickets are on sale now.

Up in Glens Falls, the Wood Theater is hosting a performance by veteran mentalist the Amazing Kreskin at 4pm on Sunday, October 29 ($25) and a concert by the a cappella group Rockapella at 7:30pm on Monday, December 18 ($45).

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: The Egg has announced a pair of new shows – the multi-talented Henry Rollins brings his spoken word/photography Travel Slide Show Tour to town, while lead vocalist Danny Hutton leads ’70s hitmakers Three Dog Night into The Egg. Tickets for both new shows go on sale to the general public at 11am on Friday (October 13).

The LateShip sets out on the haunted Hudson River at 7pm on Saturday, October 28 for a three-hour Halloween Costume Party and Boat Cruise aboard the Dutch Apple II, featuring live music by the LateShift and Dark Honey. Tickets are $25 through Friday, October 20; $30 thereafter.

SOLD OUT: WGNA-FM’s Secret Star Acoustic Jam at Proctors in Schenectady at 7pm on Wednesday, October 25 is now officially sold out… The concert by the ever-rollickin’ JD McPherson at the Hangar on the Hudson in Troy on Wednesday, November 8 is now officially sold out.

The Bennington Center for the Arts’ fall concert series continues with upcoming shows by Michael Benedict’s Jazz Vibes at 8pm on Friday, October 20 and the eclectic Annie & the Hedonists at 8pm on Friday, November 3. Tickets for both shows are priced at $15 in advance; $20 at the door; kids ages 12 & under free.

The Upper Room in Albany has become downtown’s home of the blues, but the second-floor venue will be putting a bit of a different spin on it at 8pm on Thursday, November 16 when the Blues Beatles take the stage. Tickets are $15 & $25.

OPENERS: Jillian Cardarelli will open the show for country music hitmaker Easton Corbin at the Upstate Concert Hall in Clifton Park at 8pm on Friday, November 24… The Stray Birds have snagged the opening slot for the Wood Brothers at The Egg in Albany at 7:30pm on Tuesday, January 30.
