MUSIC: Philadelphia Orchestra @ Saratoga Performing Arts Center, Saratoga Springs. It’s all topsy-turvy! Typically performed as the final concert of the orchestra’s summer SPAC season, Tchaikovsky’s famed “1812 Overture” will be performed tonight for the orchestra’s opening night, complete with fireworks and live cannon fire, as the kick-off to the 2017 Russian Festival. Stéphane Denève conducts. 8pm.

    No mention of Chuck Lamb at the hall of springs after the Philadelphia orchestra show tonight? Guy is one of the best jazz pianists to grace the capital district. If jazz is your thing, this guy is off the hook! Show starts at 9:30 and is free!
