You can tell a lot about a band by the t-shirts that their fans wear to their concert. At a festival, it’s more of a hodge-podge. At Day Two of the Solid Sound festival, we spotted dozens of different Wilco t-shirts, but far and away the most ubiquitous t-shirt slogan declared, “We’re All in This Together,” amended in smaller lettering underneath with “Except Trump. He’s a Dick.”

Here’s a random sampling of some other t-shirts spotted at Solid Sound at MASS MoCA in North Adams on Saturday, June 24:

  1. Ross Marvin says:

So this is my favorite part of Nippertown and I wait every two years for this list with the same gusto and excitement I feel for Solid Sound. To me, Dance Like Russia Isn’t Watching was the clear gold medalist of the weekend, though I purposely wore a shirt on Saturday to see if I could make the list (alas, I didn’t make the cut). Years ago, I signed a petition which came with a free t-shirt (which was the main reason I signed up). The shirt never ceases to draw comments when I wear it out, much to the chagrin of whomever happens to be my companion. It has a picture of the planet on it and reads “Don’t Frack My Mother”, ha. Thought I’d add it to the list here as I am pretty sure you nailed all the rest. The Internet has really been a gift to obscure t-shirt enthusiasts…I could probably get a nice buck for the fracking t-shirt on the eBay. Great work on this and all other Nipper endeavors–still the best site in the Capital Region in my humble opinion.

Ross, check the list again. Your “Don’t Frack My Mother” did indeed make the cut. It’s right there between R U Kitten Me? and Moon Boot Lover… And thanks for the kind words and support for Nippertown.
