Jean-Luc Ponty is responsible for my life-long love of Jazz and Fusion. As a 17 year old, I saw him warm up for Supertramp in Ottawa, Canada, and was blown away. As an aspiring musician, Their stuff represented the pinnacle of musical abilitiy and I was forever indebted to Mr. Ponty. Thanks Nippertown for highlighting this weekend of jazz!
