Festival Round-Up for the Weekend

Now that we’ve flipped the calendar over to June, summer festival fever is bustin’ out all over. Here’s a round-up of the festival scene for this weekend:

TODAY (FRIDAY, JUNE 2)

AMERICAN MUSIC FESTIVAL

Dogs of Desire at 7:30pm; Late Night Jam Session with Shankar Tucker at 9:30pm.

THE LAKE GEORGE ELVIS FESTIVAL

It’s all-Elvis all the time this weekend in Lake George as more than 50 Elvis Tribute Artists (that’s apparently the politically correct term these days) compete for big prizes, go on cruises, entertain in local nightspots, ride in a parade, etc.

SATURDAY (JUNE 3)

FREEDOM FEST
Freedom Square, Troy

FREE
Free music, free food, free arts activities and lots more to celebrate and motivate the spirit of creative resistance. Featuring Taina Asili y la Banda Rebelde – the Local 518 band that rocked the stage at the Women’s March on Washington – and the hip-hop duo Katani. Rain location is next door at the Sanctuary for Independent Media.

FLY92’S SUMMERJAM
Saratoga Performing Arts Center, Saratoga Springs

$25, $35, $45 & $65; lawn $20
Flo Rida headlines this year’s festivities, which will also feature performances by Sabrina Carpenter, Bebe Rexha, Daniel Skye, Hey Violet and Max & the Party Pupils.
