NAME: Matt Lorenz
BAND AFFILIATION: The Suitcase Junket
INSTRUMENT: In this band, all of them. Which means homemade footdrums, guitar, voice and keys.

Post continues below...

1. THE FIRST ALBUM I EVER BOUGHT WAS… Weezer – blue album. I used to think it was Ace of Base, but then I realized that was a gift. (Still loved it)

2. THE FIRST CONCERT THAT I EVER SAW WAS… Probably Rosenshontz? It was a kids group in New England. The first one in a properly impressive venue was Paul Simon and Warren Zevon at SPAC. (Zevon was better)

3. THE FIRST MUSICAL INSTRUMENT I EVER OWNED OR PLAYED WAS… The family piano, then a hand-me-down guitar.

4. THE FIRST SONG THAT I EVER PERFORMED IN PUBLIC WAS… “Wake Up, Little Susie” in elementary school.

5. THE FIRST BAND I WAS EVER IN WAS… Red Flannel Hash. (High school cover band)

In support of his new album, “Pile Driver,” 21st century one-man band Matt Lorenz (aka, the Suitcase Junket) is slated to take the stage at Club Helsinki in Hudson on Saturday (June 3) with his begoggling array of unorthodox instruments and a great grab-bag of songs. Singer-songwriter Caroline Rose opens the show at 9pm. Tickets are $15.

  1. Andrew Gregory says:

Begoggling is better and much more understandable than covfefe

  2. Michael Eck says:

I was there the night “begoggled” was invented. I know what it means, and it’s used in the correct context here.
