Dance in Albany: The Egg & UAlbany Team Up Again

For the third consecutive year, The Egg and the UAlbany Performing Arts Center are joining forces to present the joint Dance in Albany series, expanding to offer ten performances during the 2017-2018 season.

The series will include seven fully staged shows at The Egg, including performances by Tango Fire, Collage Dance Collective, Bridgman/Packer Dance, Dublin Irish Dance, MOMIX and Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo, as well as the annual concert by its resident Ellen Sinopoli Dance Company.

Three stripped down, up close and personal “In the Raw” performances at UAlbany will feature 10 Hairy Legs, Raphael Xavier and RUBBERBANDance Group.

TANGO FIRE

Featuring twelve spectacular dancers and a quartet of brilliant musicians, this fiery ensemble from Buenos Aires combines the rawness and sophistication with the seductive and sultry sides of Tango, artfully tracing its origins from the streets of Argentina through its evolution into today’s ballroom styles.

Founded in 2012 by Randy James, this all-male repertory dance company performs existing and newly commissioned works which celebrate and explore the tremendous technical and emotional range of today’s male dancer.
