May 11th, 2017, 9:00 am by Greg

Lookin’ to soak up some post-Tulip Fest music?

How about Marshall Crenshaw, one of the truly great contemporary pop songsmiths. He made his mark on stage (as John Lennon in the long-running hit show “Beatlemania”) and the silver screen (portraying Buddy Holly in the film “La Bamba”).

Post continues below...

But his greatest success has come as a recording star, with his stellar music career spanning 13 albums and hundreds of songs, including such hook-filled gems as “Cynical Girl,” “Someday, Someway,” “(You’re My) Favorite Waste of Time” and “Whenever You’re on My Mind.”

Crenshaw is headed into the Upper Room in downtown Albany at 7:30pm on Saturday (May 13), and tickets are available now priced at $20 & $35.

If I don’t win, I’m sorry … and so is Brenda Lee. (since a Diane Warren song was ref’d above, a little Ben Vaughn won’t hurt…)
