FEST: FreshGrass Announces First Round of Bands

Brandi Carlile, Railroad Earth, the Del McCoury Band with special guest David Grisman, Del & Dawg, Bill Frisell, the Wood Brothers and Alison Brown are among the first round of bands that have been announced for the seventh annual FreshGrass festival at MASS MoCA in North Adams.

The three-day festival of bluegrass and progressive roots music takes places throughout the MASS MoCA campus From Friday-Sunday, September 15-17.

The fest features four stages; countless pop-up performances throughout the 16-acre campus; the FreshGrass Awards competition for best band, banjo, fiddle and singer-songwriter; instrument and industry workshops; a pop-up record store; demonstrations by local luthiers; and a bounty of Berkshire harvest-season food and spirits.

Early bird three-day tickets are now available for $105; $89 students; $46 kids age 6-16; and free for kids age five and under. Camping is also available.
