COMIN’ SOON: New Concert Announcements

The Eighth Step at Proctors has announced a handful of new concerts including singer-songwriter Dar Williams at the GE Theatre at 8pm Saturday, March 4. Opening the concert will be Trevor Gordon Hall. Tickets are $26 in advance; $28 at the door; $40 Gold Circle. Meanwhile, Cosy Sheridan and Sloan Wainwright team up for a double bill at Proctors’ Underground at 7:30pm on Saturday, March 11. Tickets are $24 in advance; $27 at the door; $40 Gold Circle. The Eighth Step will also throw an 80th birthday party for Sonny Ochs at the GE Theatre at 4pm on Sunday, April 9, featuring performances by Emma’s Revolution, John Flynn, Greg Greenway, Kim & Reggie Harris, Joe Jencks, Sharon Katz, Magpie, David Roth, Nancy Tucker and Pat Wictor. Tickets are $28 in advance; $30 at the door; $50 Gold Circle. And the veteran folkmaster Tom Rush returns to the stage at Proctors’ GE Theatre on Friday, April 28. Matt Nakoa opens the show at 7:30pm. Tickets are $30 in advance; $50 Gold Circle.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Pink Floyd alum Roger Waters has added a number of new dates to his upcoming Us + Them Tour, including a stop Albany’s Times Union Center. Tickets go on sale at 10am on Monday (February 27).

In support of their upcoming self-titled debut album, Nancy & Beth – the duo of Megan Mullally (who will soon be reprising her role in NBC-TV’s “Will & Grace” reboot) and Stephanie Hunt – have been added to the line-up for the Solid Sound festival at MASS MoCA. The initial line-up was announced last week.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Tanglewood’S Koussevitzky Music Shed in Lenox announced two new concerts for the summer 2017 season – Four Voices (featuring Joan Baez, Mary Chapin Carpenter and the Indigo Girls) and John Mellencamp with Emmylou Harris and Carlene Carter. Tickets go on sale at 10am on Friday (February 24).

Veteran jazz vocalist Giacomo Gates teams up with the Don Miller Trio for an upcoming concert at the Senate Garage in Kingston. Tickets are $15.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: The annual 518 Songfest returns to The Egg’s Swyer Theatre with an all-star showcase of Greater Nippertown musical talent, including Sawyer Fredericks, John Davidson, Girl Blue, The Sea The Sea and Sandy McKnight.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: The Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival has announced the first round of performs for this year’s fest at the Walsh Farm in Oak Hill, including Grammy Award-winning bluegrass band the SteelDrivers, dobro master Jerry Douglas and his band, the Del McCoury Band, Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder, fab fiddler Mark O’Connor leading the O’Connor Band, Greater Nippertown’s own award-winning Gibson Brothers and a whole lot more.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Carolina Chocolate Drops’ Rhiannon Giddins returns to The Egg this summer. Tickets go on sale at 11am on Friday (February 24). And stand-up comedian Sommore lands at The Egg with Chris Thomas and Rayzor.

On Wednesday, March 8, the Iron Horse Music Hall in Northampton plays host to the rollickin’ J.D. McPherson. Eli Catlin opens the show at 7pm. Tickets are on sale now priced at $17.50 in advance; $20 at the door.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: The Moody Blues and Brad Paisley (with Dustin Lynch, Chase Bryant and Lindsay Ell) have both been added to the summer slate of concerts at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center. Tickets go on sale at 10am Friday (February 24).

Proctors’ GE Theatre in Schenectady is hosting Adirondack Folk Night at 7pm on Saturday, April 15, featuring performances by Dan Berggren, Dan Duggan, John Kirk, Peggy Lynn, Sara Milonovich, Ed Lowman, Trish Miller and Alex Smith. The concert is a benefit concert for the musical programming at Great Camp Sagamore, and tickets are priced at $25 in advance; $30 at the door.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Vocalist-songwriter Ryan Tedder leads OneRepublic into the Saratoga Performing Arts Center with support acts Fitz & the Tantrums and James Arthur. Tickets go on sale to the general public at 10am Friday (February 24).

Based on characters from the hit show “Trailer Park Boys,” Randy and Mr. Lahey bring a shit-storm of non-stop laughter and audience interaction to the Upstate Concert Hall in Clifton Park at 8pm on Tuesday, April 4. Tickets are now on sale priced at $25 in advance; $30 at the door.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Pink Martini, Michael Feinstein and Sutton Foster are coming to the Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center in Great Barrington this summer. Tickets go on sale to the general public at 12noon on Friday, March 10.

Soulful Americana singer-songwriter Shannon McNally returns to Club Helsinki in Hudson at 9pm on Saturday, May 13. Tickets are on sale now, priced at $15.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Granger Smith (aka Earl Dibbles Jr.) and American Idol Trent Harmon team up at the Upstate Concert Hall in Clifton Park for a benefit concert for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

The four original surviving members of British Invasion band the Zombies perform their classic 1968 album The Odessey & Oracle, plus a selection of hits and favorites from throughout their career when they play the Calvin Theatre in Northampton at 8pm on Friday, March 31. Tickets are on sale now, priced at $35, $49.50 & $65.
