Club Helsinki in Hudson has added a few new shows to its concert calendar, highlighted by Texas troubadour James McMurtry at 9pm on Saturday, April 8. Tickets are $25. Also new at Helsinki are the return of Sarah Kilborne’s “The Lavender Blues” at 9pm on Friday, April 7 and a fundraiser for GayHudson featuring Varla Jean Merman at 7pm on Sunday, April 9.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Solid SoundWilco’s biennial festival at MASS MoCA in North Adams – returns this summer with a line-up that includes Television, Kurt Vile & the Violators, Robert Glasper Experiment, Dawn of Midi, Dave Alvin & Phil Alvin with the Guilty Ones, Kevin Morby, Joan Shelley, Big Thief, Peter Wolf & the Midnight Travelers, Deep Sea Diver, Andy Shauf, Alloy Orchestra, Idris Ackamoor & the Pyramids, Kacy & Clayton, Daniel Bachman, the Jeff Parker Trio, The Shaggs, Max Hatt/Edda Glass, Tweedy, the Autumn Defense, On Fillmore, the Nels Cline Four, Quindar, Bread & Puppet Theater, the Story Pirates and more. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: The Egg announced four new concerts – David Lindley with Chris Smither, Lisa Fischer & Grand Baton, Sara Watkins with Mike + Ruthy and Bruce Cockburn. Tickets for all four shows go on sale to the general public at 11am on Friday (February 17).

The Zankel Music Center at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs has announced several new concerts for the spring semester, including five-time Grammy Award-winning South African favorites Ladysmith Black Mambazo at 7:30pm on Thursday, March 9 $39, $44 & $49) and the stellar jazz trio of drummer Eric Harland, pianist Taylor Eigsti and bassist Larry Grenadier at 8pm on Thursday, March 30 ($8; $5 seniors; free for students & children).

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: The multi-talented Americana pioneer David Bromberg is leading his quintet into the Cohoes Music Hall. Tickets go on sale to the general public at 10am on Friday (February 17).

Darlingside returns to Caffe Lena in Saratoga Springs for two shows – 4 & 7pm – on Saturday, April 1. It’s no April Fools Day joke. Tickets are $35 in advance; $37 at the door. Get ’em while you can…

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Alt-rockers Cake are rollin’ into Greater Nippertown for a pair of outdoor concerts this summer – at Brewery Ommegang in Cooperstown and at MASS MoCA’s Joe’s Field in North Adams. Tickets for MASS MoCA are on sale now. Tickets for Brewery Ommegang go on sale at 10am on Friday (February 17).

Yes, it’s true that Mardi Gras officially ends at 12midnight on Tuesday, February 28, but if C.J. Chenier – the son of zydeco godfather Clifton Chenier – is comin’ to town, well, we think it’s OK to bend the deadline a bit. A benefit for the Amsterdam Waterfront Foundation and the Riverlink Park concert series will be held at the Riverfront Center in Amsterdam on Saturday March 4. The big bash features music by C.J. Chenier & the Red Hot Zydeco Band and a Cajun buffet catered by Russo’s Grill, as well as Mardi Gras masks and beads. 5:30pm doors; 6pm cocktails; 7pm dinner; 8pm music & dancing. Tickets are $60 in advance; $70 at the door, including dinner.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Following the release of his new album New Lore in April, Sean Rowe will be making a tour stop at the Hangar on the Hudson in Troy, as well as teaming up with Girl Blue at Club Helsinki in Hudson.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Dale Watson and Ray Benson (of Asleep at the Wheel) team up for an evening of old-school country duets backed by a full band at The Egg. Tickets are on sale now.

Haven’t had enough of “Stairway to Heaven” churned out by tribute bands? Led Zeppelin 2 plays the Upstate Concert Hall in Clifton Park at 8pm on Saturday, March 18th. Tickets go on sale to the general public at 10am on Friday (February 17), priced at $15 in advance; $18 at the door. Also newly announced for UCH are breakout country music singer Kane Brown with LANco at 8pm on Thursday, April 13. Tickets are $20 in advance; $23 at the door. And up-and-coming country singer Chase Rice rolls into UCH at 8pm on Friday, May 5. Tickets are $25 in advance; $28 at the door. Tickets for all three newly announced shows go on sale at 10am on Friday (February 17).

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: 14-year-old jazz piano phenom Joey Alexander is slated to return to the Woodstock Playhouse with his trio.

The free concert by jazz saxman Mark Turner and his quartet at Williams College in Williamstown was snowed out by the storm last Thursday night, but the band is making good the postponement with a quickly re-scheduled make-up date at 8pm on Monday (February 20) on campus at the Brooks-Rogers Recital Hall. joining Turner in his band will be trumpeter Jason Palmer, bassist Joe Martin and drummer Marcus Gilmore.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Melissa Etheridge and her band rock their way into the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall in support of her latest album, Memphis Rock & Soul. Tickets go on sale at 10am on Friday (February 17).

The Wood Theater in Glens Falls has added a few new concerts to the calendar including veteran piano-man George Winston at 8pm on Friday, April 21 ($55) and Contemporary Christian singer-songwriter Audrey Assad at 7pm on Saturday, April 22 ($20). Tickets for both shows are on sale now.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: In Saratoga Springs, the Saratoga Performing Arts Center is hosting the Double Feature tour featuring co-headliners Scott Bradlee’s Postmodern Jukebox and the a cappella ensemble Straight No Chaser. Tickets go on sale to the general public at 10am on Saturday (February 18).

Elton John tribute band Early Elton – featuring pianist Jeff Kazee and bassist John Conte (both of Southside Johnny & the Asbury Jukes), as well as the Fab Faux’s drummer Rich Pagano – serves up “A Mixed Bag & Fan Favorites” at Levon Helm Studios in Woodstock at 8pm on Friday, July 7. Tickets are $30 & $35.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: String Cheese Incident has been announced as the third headliner for the three-day Mountain Jam at Hunter Mountain. Other new additions to the fest’s line-up include the Head and the Heart, Matisyahu, Moon Hooch, Sinkane, Amy Helm, Marty Stuart & His Fabulous Superlatives, the Band of Heathens, Tauk, Nicole Atkins, Muddy Magnolias, Dan Bern, Ari Hest, Holly Bowling, Andy Frasco & the U.N., Parsonsfield, the National Reserve, the Ghost of Paul Revere, Hollis Brown, Ryan Culwell, Murali Coryell, Simi Stone and more.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: If you’re lookin’ for laughs, the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall has announced the return of veteran stand-up comedian Sinbad. Tickets go on sale to the general public at 10aqm on Friday (February 17).
