Skidmore College’s Tang Museum in Saratoga Springs presents an evening of “Folk’d Up Country” at 7pm on Monday (November 7). The free pre-election mini-fest features musicians who stretch the boundaries of American folk music, including noise-folk trio Powerdove, Brooklyn’s Ben Seretan, Greater Nippertown’s Matthew Carefully (with special guests Katie Hammon and Ian White), musician-performance artist Adam Tinkle and five-piece Skidmore band Test.

Michale Graves – former frontman for the Misfits – is headed to Troy for a free acoustic concert at Dinosaur Bar-B-Que on Friday, December 23. Opening the show at 9pm will be Becoming a Ghost and Reverbicon.

Break out the pomade ’cause Bloodshot Bill is returning to the Low Beat in Albany for 3pm matinee on Sunday, November 13 in support of his new album Guitar Boy.

Pink Floyd tribute band The Machine lands at the Upstate Concert Hall in Clifton Park at 8pm on Thursday, December 29. Tickets go on sale at 10am on Friday (November 4), priced at $10.60 for the first 106 tickets purchased online. Thereafter, tickets are $20 in advance; $22 at the door.

POSTPONED: Charlie King, the Peace Poets and Poetyc Visionz were scheduled for a pre-election concert on Saturday (November 5) at the Eighth Step at Proctors’ GE Theatre in Schenectady, but the concert has been postponed til “early 2017.”

Troy’s own super singer-songwriter Sean Rowe plays a homecoming concert at the Hangar on the Hudson at 8pm on Friday, January 13. Priced at $20, tickets are on sale now.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Seventeen-year-old Fultonville farmboy and winner of the 2015 “The Voice,” Sawyer Fredericks is slated to make his Egg debut in the Swyer Theatre next month. Tickets go on sale at 11am on Friday (November 4).

Amy Helm & the Handsome Strangers play a Thanksgiving weekend homecoming show at Levon Helm Studios in Woodstock on Friday, November 25. The Ghost of Paul Revere opens the show at 8pm. Tickets are $45 & $65. Also newly announced is Elizabeth Mitchell’s holiday concert, The Sounding Joy, at 8pm on Saturday, December 10. The benefit concert for the Washbourne House will feature an all-star line-up of special guests including Ronnie Spector, Natalie Merchant, Marco Benevento, Cindy Cashdollar and many others. Tickets are $40 & $65

The Comedy Works in Saratoga Springs is playing host to stand-up comedian Jim Norton’s Mouthful of Shame Tour for shows at 8 & 10pm on Friday and Saturday, November 25 & 26. Tickets are $30; dinner & show tickets are also available.

Rolling Stones tribute band Satisfaction takes the stage at the Bearsville Theater in Woodstock at 8pm on Saturday, January 21 ($20 & $25). And veteran singer-songwriter, activist and Academy Award-winner Buffy Sainte-Marie steps into the Bearsville spotlight at 8pm on Friday, February 24 ($20, $30 & $35).

Skidmania Beatlemore – Skidmore College’s annual tribute to the Fab Four – takes over the Zankel Music Center on the Saratoga campus at 8pm on Friday, November 18 and 2pm on Saturday, November 19. This always sells out, so if you wanna go, buy your tickets soon: $10; $7 seniors; $5 students & children.
