MUSIC: The Hot Sardines @ The Egg, Albany. Take a blustery brass lineup, layer it over a rhythm section led by a stride-piano virtuoso in the Fats Waller vein, and tie the whole thing together with a one-of-the-boys frontwoman with a voice from another era. Oh yeah, they’ve got a tap dancer, too… 7:30pm. $34.50.

MUSIC: Ian Hunter & the Rant Band @ Club Helsinki, Hudson. The former bandleader of ’70s British rock legends Mott the Hoople wrote such rock anthems as “All the Way From Memphis,” “Once Bitten, Twice Shy” and “Cleveland Rocks,” and had a huge hit with the David Bowie-penned “All The Young Dudes,” after turning down the first song Bowie offered, “Suffragette City,” thinking it wasn’t good enough to record. 9pm.
